Getting Better

Since I started golf I've gotten better every year. In the past few years my goal has been to lower my average score. Right now my average tournament score is about 73. My lowest tournament result is -3.
This summer I'm playing in a ton of tournaments, mostly UJGA but also USGA, PGA (junior) and UGA. My goal this summer is to bring my average tournament score down closer to par. I'm pretty sure I can do it. I've been playing tournaments or practicing everyday, also working with my coach (Brad Richard). I feel like my putting has gotten much better, I'm really working on short game around the green and on getting my approaches closer so I can 1-putt much more consistently.

2016 UJGA/PGA/USGA

The highlights so far include an even par 72, T3 round in the qualifier and seeding round for the Utah Junior Matchplay. The following day I won my match 5&4. In the round of 8 I lost in a 24 hole match.

In the Junior PGA Qualifier I finished with a 77, 76.

In the Utah Junior Open I finished T3 with rounds of 75, 75.

2016 Girls Junior America's Cup, Utah Team (Modesto, CA in Northern California

Overall I feel like I've improved considerably on the longer courses. Additionally, in the very competitive girls 15-18 category I've improved my ranking dramatically over last year. I'm one of 4 girls that qualified to represent Utah in the Girls Junior America's Cup being held in Northern California later in July.

2015 UJGA / FCT / Etc..:
During the summer of 2015 I played in every UJGA tournament. I ended the season in the top 10 and had a great experience. I qualified for the UJGA Players championship, the Swire Cup Invitational, the Chadwick Invitational, etc.. I also played in the PGA Junior Qualifier, the USGA Girls Junior Qualifier and the USGA Four Ball Qualifier with partner Whitney Banz. After the UJGA season ended in August I played in 6 Future Champions Tour events in Las Vegas, Santa Barbara and San Diego, what a great experience!

- Utah State Junior Amateur Championship (matchplay):
I was one of 16 of 27 girls qualifying after the first day for matchplay and won my first match, on the third day I lost to the eventual champion, Jessica Sloot. Even though I lost earlier than I wanted, it was a great experience, I got to play with Jessica for the second time this year, seeing how tough she plays makes me want to practice harder. Next year I want to make it to the finals of the matchplay, means work, work work..

- Utah Junior PGA Championship Qualifier:
I had a rough first day but got things together the second with a one over 73, ending in the top 10 for the second year in a row. On this course at Soldier Hollow I need to shoot -2 to have a chance to qualify, I've had good rounds here, last year placed T4, in 2016 if I can put two good rounds together I think I'll have a chance.
